Prestigious Landis M. Stetler Memorial Award
Prestigious Landis M. Stetler Memorial Award is our most prestigious award, designated for individuals who have provided leadership to the organization at the local, state, or national/international levels over an extensive period of time. The nominee’s achievements and contributions have resulted in recognition of the Council’s commitment, leadership, and dedication to services for children and youth with exceptionalities, AND/OR have made continued and sustained contributions over their lifetime to the education of children and youth with exceptionalities.
Award Details:
The Landis M. Stetler Award is designated for individuals who have provided leadership to the organization at the local, state/provincial, or national/international levels over an extensive period of time. The nominee’s achievements and contributions have resulted in recognition of the Council’s commitment, leadership, and dedication to services for children and youth with exceptionalities, AND/OR have made continued and sustained contributions over their lifetime to the education of children and youth with exceptionalities.
If you would like to nominate a person for this award, please complete this application no later than September 15th, for the 2022 awards.
Up to three finalists will be selected from the eligible nominees and will be contacted to schedule a virtual interview prior to the FCEC Annual State Conference in October.
Award recipients will be notified prior to the conference. Award Recipients and finalists will be honored at the conference’s Awards Luncheon.
Nomination Criteria
- Provide leadership to CEC in areas including: unit leadership; committee or task force membership; professional development/training; policy and advocacy; governance; professional standards and accreditation.
OR demonstrates / have demonstrated:
- Significant special education work at the local level.
- Significant special education work at the state level.
- Significant special education work at the national/international level.
- Authentic work consistent with CEC’s mission statement
Such work can include the following: servitude/voluntary work, leadership, mentorship, Peer reviewed presentations, peer-reviewed publications, textbooks, textbook chapters, innovation.
